Willemstad - Willemstad U13b 7-4(3-1)

All other teams in the U11 had competition games or had organized trainings matches for Saturday March 14, 2009 and West Indisch had a celebration so there were no teams available to play against on Saturday. We decided to play against Willemstad U13b. This team consists of  boys which are new in the U13 team and they are not able to play in the competition (yet). Because coach Lito of the U13 team could only provide 5 boys the rest of the team consisted of boys of the U11. Lisandro, Mathew, Lorenzo and Julian completed the team. The U11 started of very well with some great combination’s and it was clear that the U13b wasn’t used to play together. Some of the communication in the U11 didn’t go so well. In some occasions attackers had to play the ball in front of the goal to the other attacker instead of trying to score themselves. The attackers also had to play the ball (back) to the midfielders in some occasions to create space for themselves. Defenders were following the attackers of the U13b to much. If the  just played in their position they would have used less energy by running around. The midfielders had a difficult time in deciding when to attack and when to defend creating huge spaces in midfield at times. But all considered the training was very useful.

training-9-maart

Player one plays the ball to player two. Player two with one touch back to player one. Player one dominates the ball and plays to player three. Player three gives a pass into the penalty area where player two tries to score. Important elements in this exercise: Communication/technical skills-Asking of the ball, moving towards the ball, controlling  of the ball, passing of the ball, turning in the right direction with the ball, choosing moving directions in front of the goal without the ball.

Training March 9, 2009

For warming up we did the passing and the running exercise. Halfway trough the exercise had to stopped and explained again because it was executed very badly. We followed with a decision exercise of passing the ball to a fellow teammate or keep the ball close and get by the defender with ball. The last exercise was one leg jump for balance. We ended our training session with a match.

Quick’ 60 - Atletiko Salinja 1-2(1-2)

Yesterday our next opponent in the competition, Atletiko Salinja played against Quick ‘60 at Quick ‘60. Atletiko Salinja won this match with 1-2. Now they also have 6 points just as U11. Atletiko Salinja started in the following line-up: Ruben(goalkeeper), Brian and a new player who was playing at Excellence last year were the defenders. Midfielders were Paulo, Max, Gillian, Tahit and Malik and Gianni was the attacker. In the second half Paulo, Max, Gianni were substituted by Paul, Najid and Rames. Tahit scored both of the goals of Atletiko Salinja after Quick ‘60 had taken the lead in the ‘15 minute. The first goal was a freekick just outside the penalty area and the second one was a shot on the left side in the penalty area. Tahit plays on the left side on midfield and his assignment is to take on the right defender and give a ball in front of the goal were the attacker and the two inside midfielders come from behind and try to receive the ball. Malik does exactly the same at the right side of the goal. After a few minutes Malik and Tahit switch position. The keeper of  Atletiko Salinja plays the ball to the right or left side of the pitch when he has to take an out ball. No long ball is played from behind. Only when he has the ball in his hands he plays a long ball. When taking corners the ball is  played back to midfield from where the ball is played in front of the goal. Six players take position on the outside of the penalty area one player in tne middle of midfield and the last defender moves away form their part of the pitch close to the midfielder.

Training March 4, 2008

We did an exercise with a game element were the boys had to try to do the exercises as quick as possible with their group consisting of 4 boys each. And we ended the training with a match. Saturday there will be no game for the U11.

Training March 2, 2009

Today we did an excerise with passing, receiving and asking for the ball. The second excerise was passing the ball in an circle with one boy trying to attack the ball. The one who lost the ball three times or passed the ball badly would have to leave the circle untill two boys were left. The two boys had to try to push each other out of the circle (on one foot) to decide the winner. After that we did some free kicks from just outside the penalty area and we finished of with a match.

Quick ‘60 - Willemstad 1-2 (0-0)

In our second game of the competition against Quick ‘60 we managed to win a very difficult game today. Although we trained against Quick ‘60 a few times the last couple of months and had no real difficulty with them then today was a totally different story. Especially the first half you could see that the pitch was a real problem for the U11. Passing of the ball did not go well and dominating of the ball was also a big problem so the U11 was not able to play their favorite passing game. So it turned out into fighting match the second half. The first half gave the impression that the boys were all still asleep and with some luck we reached half time drawless. In the second half a defender of Quick ‘60 was able to get through to midfield in the ‘27 minute and he got the ball and with a good kick of the ball scored the 1-0 for Quick ‘60. After this goal finally the boys started fight their selves back into the game. Out of corner Tyrone scored the equalizer and 5 minutes before the ending of the game Dejan scored the winner out of a beautiful run with the ball.
